We are pleased to announce that the Merry Go Round Pavilion is now OPEN during the Car Cruise each week! Your little ones will love to ride the gorgeous vintage adorned Merry Go Round for a small fee!

Built in 2001, the Merry Go Round Pavilion is a beautiful stone and timber rotunda featuring the same Adirondack "Great Camp" architecture of Bear Mountain Inn and other buildings in the National Park System.

Don't forget, the Merry Go Round Pavilion is also available as an affordable and unique venue for your wedding, celebration, or corporate/group event.

Bear Mountain's experienced catering team will walk you through each step- from choosing your menu to flawless execution! This unique event room with a classic indoor merry-go-round and dance floor as its centerpiece can accomodate up to 100 guests for a seated dinner, or 150 for a cocktail reception.

Rod Benders Car Club Delivers 18^th “Car Cruise” Season to the Hudson Valley

BEAR MOUNTAIN, NY - The Rod Benders Car Club of the Hudson Valley will kick off their 18^th annual “Car Cruise” season on Wednesday, May 3^rd from 5pm-9pm. The weekly event, which is held on the field adjacent to the Bear Mountain Inn, has been a community staple since its inception in 1999. The event is run by the small but loyal local car club, comprised of local community members, business owners, car lovers and hobbyists alike.

All vehicles, whether for ‘show’ or just entering the Car Cruise as spectators are subject to a $5 fee by Bear Mountain State Park. A $40 seasonal club membership exempts car club members from the weekly entrance fee may be purchased at the registration desk at the cruise. Each week trophies are awarded to outstanding vehicles in attendance in appreciation of their attendance, efforts and support.

In addition to the many cars on display, the Merry Go Round Pavilion is open for the little ones to enjoy (for a small fee per ride). Wide variances of vendors outline the field, from the likes of car photographers and vinyl stickers to the internet viral clothing brand, LuLaRoe. While not affiliated in any way with the Rod Benders, Guest Services will have food and beverages available for sale and tunes will be spun by local DJ Company, “Party Time Productions”. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, which directly funds the car clubs philanthropic endeavors and event costs. Throughout the season live music will be provided as advertised, all in all helping evolve the event and bring it to the next level with each and every passing season.

“We started as a small, dedicated group of guys who just wanted to get together, share our love of cars, create a fun family event in our own backyard and raise some money for local charities. We never imagined that almost 20 years later we would grow to be one of the biggest car events in New York State” shared Event Director, Craig Young- one of the founding members of the Rod Benders Car Club and “Bear Mountain Car Cruise”. “It’s unbelievable to see every inch of this field covered in tuner cars, classic cars, hot rods and that doesn’t even touch on our mix of motorcycles and bikes. We’ve actually gotten to the point where we have had to close the gate because we couldn’t fit anyone else in- which I hated to do! That’s incredible to me.”

The Cruise season will commence on September 13 with an end of year “Car Show”. This annual grand finale will be a culmination of the club’s seasonal efforts and is their biggest event each year. There is a $10 entrance fee for the 9/13 “Car Show” in which all proceeds will be donated to local charities.

2017 SEASON STARTER INFORMATION:

*Our first cruise this year will be May 3rd, 2017. We will be cruising in the parking lot behind the carousel. We will NOT be on the field. Bear Mountain will also not be charging an entrance fee at the gate.

*The following Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 will remain the same. We will be in the parking lot behind the carousel and there is no entrance fee to attend or spectate.

*Starting May 17th, 2017 we will return to the main field! Bear Mountain will begin charging their entrance fee at the gate. If you become a member of our car club (for an annual cost of $40- sold per season with no committment for future seasons), you will receive a pass that allows you free entry to all of our cruises for the duration of the season (with the exception of the end of the year "Car Show" in September).

*In order to join our club, or register for a free dash number (this does NOT entitle you to the weekly free entry at the gate, it only allows you to participate in our cruise car juding for trophies), please visit Krystal or Theresa Young at the registration table. A Rod Bender's Car Club membership is $40 per year, we accept cash ONLY.

*There will be NO CAR CRUISE ON JULY 5TH, 2017. AS BEAR MOUNTAIN WILL BE CLEANING UP FROM THE JULY 4TH EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE IN THE PARK! We will resume to our regular schedule the following Wednesday, July 12th, 2017.

If there is a high likelyhood of rain, we have no choice but to CANCEL in accordance with our agreement with Bear Mountain. The danger of disrupting the field is too great on rainy days, and we do not wish to harm the state park in any way. Please understand, we do our best to bring the cruise to you each and every week, weather permitting.

Bear Mountain has requested that we ensure that every member card registration pass that has already been issued for 2016 (these are the yellow issued passes that cost $40 for the calendar year) have the date on them notating the year active as "2016". We were not notified of this in advance or we would have made other arrangements. To correct the issue, we are asking you to please visit Teri (orange shirt-big smile!) at the registration table to exchange your current pass for one that meets Bear Mountain's requirements. We apologize for the inconvenience and just want to make sure everyone acknowledges the request so no one has any issues entering the event. 2016 SEASON INFORMATION: MAY 2016

The Rod Benders Car Club welcomes you to the 2016 season of the Bear Mountain Wednesday Night Car Cruise.

All vehicles entering the park pay a $5 Park Entrance Fee after 4:00pm.Rod Benders Car Club does not receive any part of this fee
A $40 seasonal club membership exempts members from the entrance fee.This membership is available for all years of vehicles.You may register at the desk.
Seasonal membership is required for all 1997 and newer vehicles to be on the field. A $5 one night pass is also available for the newer vehicles but the $5 entrance fee will still be charged by the park.
Please park in rows as directed by our staff so we may maximize the number of cars on the show field.Don’t drive onto the field to “reserve” a space.Meet up outside the gate and drive in together if you want to park next to a particular vehicle.
Food and beverages are available from Guest Services™ which is not affiliated with Rod Benders Car Club. Rod Benders Car Club receives NO money from the sale of food or beverages.
Show and cruise flyers are NOT to be placed in or on vehicles.They may be handed out on the field or made available at the registration table.Please do not hand flyers out while vehicles are lining up to register.
If you need assistance go to the registration desk or ask one of our volunteers wearing an orange STAFF shirt.
Vendor spaces are $30 per week plus $5 Park entrance fee.There are no reserved spaces, but you must park in the designated area.Vendors should arrive no later than 5pm.
Your purchase of a 50/50 ticket helps us to continue making this car cruise possible.
